SAGSINs off-grid sensing platform

Deploy and forget.
Water and soil, sensed.

Solar buoys watch your water; buried sensors watch your soil. Readings reach the cloud through any site network, or walk away with your phone where there is none. One app for every device.

Two devices, one app

A buoy on the water and a sensor under the ground, feeding the same app.

Smart buoy

It floats, runs on sunlight and logs water quality on a schedule. Every record stays on board; where the site has Wi-Fi it uploads by itself, where it does not it waits for you to come close.

Measures
Water temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and more; probes can be swapped
Power
Solar panel and battery, no cables, no battery swaps
Storage
Every record on board; when full, only the oldest are overwritten
Data out
Uploads over site Wi-Fi, or straight to the app from a phone nearby

Buried soil sensor

The unit sits underground with probes at several depths, logging soil moisture and temperature, and uploads through a LoRa gateway on the surface. Low power by design, bury it and leave it.

Measures
Soil moisture, temperature and conductivity at several depths
Power
Built-in battery, low power, maintenance free for long stretches
Storage
Every record in the unit; when full, only the oldest are overwritten
Data out
Through a LoRa gateway to the cloud, shown in the app next to the buoys

How the data reaches you

With or without a network on site.

  1. Deploy

Float the buoy, bury the soil sensor, scan the QR code on the device and it is bound to your account.

  2. Log and store

Devices sample on schedule and keep every record on board, overwriting only the oldest when full.

  3. Two ways out

With a site network, new records upload to the cloud by themselves. Without one, bring your phone close and the app pulls them straight from the device.

  4. View and analyse

Open the app for current values, history and trend charts. Data collected nearby syncs to the cloud once the phone is back online.

One app for every device

Android first, iOS to follow.

  • Current readings

The latest values from every device at a glance.

  • History and trends

Browse any period and chart how readings move.

  • Two ways to sync

Over the network when there is one, straight from a device nearby when there is none.

  • Suggestions and alerts

Notices when readings leave their range or keep drifting.
